Air resistance and how things fly

It was a beautiful day on the farm and our young people have been busy moving our chickens to separate them into males and females. Whilst moving the chickens, our young people also learnt how to clip chicken wings.

Our focus this week is on air resistance and how aircrafts and birds fly, so our young people have been collaborating to decide whether some hot air balloon statements are true or false, thereby learning the history of hot air balloons and how they work. Some young people have been using hot air balloons as a way of learning and applying unfamiliar words such as density and volume.

In the kitchen, our young people have been making strawberry jam which will soon be on sale in our shop.
