Frogs

This week our learning focus is frogs!

Our young people have been learning about the life cycle of frogs and discovering some very interesting facts about frogs. Did you know that a frog does not drink water, but instead absorbs it through its ‘drinking patch’ which is the skin on its belly and underside of its thighs? In addition to writing about the life cycle of a frog, our young people have been using their imagination to junk model a physical life cycle of a frog.

One young person has constructed an electric maze, this involved building and electrics skills. When a button is pressed the whole maze rotated so that a ball passes through the maze and then when the button is pressed again the maze rotates the opposite way.

Many split pin frogs have also been made and one young person has made a jumping origami frog, utilising our young person’s problem solving skills and fine motor skills.
