WELCOME TO SUMMER ON THE FARM!
This week, we welcomed our young people back to the farm after two weeks of sunny Easter holidays. It didn’t take long to get back into the rhythm of farm life, with early mornings, fresh air, and plenty to do. It has been wonderful to see everyone return, ready for a new term of hands-on learning.
Becoming Detectives 🕵️♀️
This week, our topic was all about Agatha Christie - the queen of mystery! We learned all about her famous stories and local ties, as well as how she keeps her readers guessing until the very end. We felt like real-life detectives, searching for clues and trying to solve mysteries ourselves.

Cooking Up a Storm 👩🍳
In cooking, we made fishcakes this week. We prepped the ingredients ourselves, mixed them carefully and then shaped them by hand before cooking in the oven. It was a great opportunity to develop practical skills and understand more about how food was made - but we especially enjoyed tucking into them for lunch!

Meet Margo and Agnes 🐑
Over the easter holidays, we welcomed some new arrivals to the farm! Our young people have loved getting to know Margo and Agnes, our two new Texel Mule lambs, especially bottle feeding them at lunchtime.

Chicks Beginning to Hatch 🐣
We have also seen new life in the incubator, as our chicks have started to hatch. Watching them break out of their shells has been a special experience and a great way to understand more about life cycles and animal care.
Looking ahead☀️
It has been a full and exciting start to the summer term. With longer days, new life on the farm, and plenty of practical learning, there is a lot to look forward to in the weeks ahead.
